On Great and Holy Wednesday, April 12, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York celebrated the final Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts for this year in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Archpriest Andrei Sommer (cathedral dean), Archpriest Serafim Gan (chancellor of the Synod of Bishops), and cathedral clerics.
Upon conclusion of the service, His Eminence read the Great Lenten Prayer of Venerable Ephraim the Syrian for the last time.
Metropolitan Nicholas then addressed the worshipers with a Primatial sermon, calling upon them to find their place in the events of Passion Week and to actively participate in the coming endearing and profound divine services, to pray and fast in order to worthily greet and celebrate the coming radiant feast of Christ’s Resurrection.
