On Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of April, the feast of Venerable Mary of Egypt, His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, paid an archpastoral visit to St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell (Atlanta), GA, and officiated the divine services on the occasion of its patronal feast day.
Co-serving with the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad were: Archimandrite John (Townsend; parish rector), parish clerics: Hieromonks Alexander (Lisnichuk) and Gabriel (Davis), Priests Daniel Iliev and Mikhail Beliakov, and Deacon Peter Epstein, as well as Archpriest Gregorio Justiniano (rector of San Juan Clímaco Mission in San Germán, PR), Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (diocesan cleric) , Deacon Lev Opie (cleric of St. Nicholas Church in Palm Coast, FL), and Hierodeacon Daniel (Justiniano; cleric of San Juan Clímaco Mission).
During the Hours, Novice John (Nguyentan) and parishioner Viktor Ovchinnikov were tonsured readers.
After the Great Entrance, Hierodeacon Daniel (Justiniano) was ordained to the priesthood. The newly ordained Hieromonk Daniel will fulfill his service at St. Mary Church and in the parishes of Puerto Rico.
After Liturgy, the traditional luncheon was held in the parish hall, where parishioners had the chance to get to know the visiting clergy and other guests closer.
