Brining the icon from Moscow is the general director of the Russian National Creative Workshop "Art-Project," LLC, and director of the International Foundation for Mutual Development & Strengthening of Spiritual Unity and the Religious & Historical Values of Russian Orthodoxy in the Homeland & Abroad "Under the Protection of the Theotokos," Eugene (Evgeny) Korolev. Mr. Korolev first visited the Diocese in December 2015, when a monument to the Reunification of the Russian Orthodox Church was dedicated at the Diocesan Center in Howell, NJ.

On Sunday, July 28, the All-Diocesan St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations were held at St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ. The celebrations were organized by the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Church Abroad, and dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ and the 75th anniversary of the church’s founding. Clergy who came to the celebrations from America, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus greeted His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. The archpastors, clergy, and multitudinous pilgrims piously greeted three wonderworking icons of the Mother of God that have graced the celebrations with their presence: the Kursk Root Icon, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian Icon, and the Pochaev Icon.

On Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of December, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada led the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy in St. Seraphim Cathedral at Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY, co-served by Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, cathedral dean Archpriest Alexander Fedorowski, and visiting clergy. Over 300 people gathered for the evening service. Prior to the start of Vigil, everyone venerated the holy icons and relics of Holy Dormition Convent. The service was held under the aegis of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora – the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Youth participants of the conference sang the divine services.

December 23, 2017 - St. Herman's Youth Conference. Lecture by Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky delivered on the ramifications of the October Revolution of 1917 on the United States. Fr. Serge speaks about the history of several revered icons, which after the revolution found their way from America to "Novo-Diveevo" Convent, as well as about the lives of the convent’s founder, Archbishop Andrei (Rymarenko), and the founder of Holy Protection Church in Nyack, Archpriest Seraphim Slobodskoy.

On Saturday morning, December 23, the annual St. Herman Youth Conference opened in Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY. This year, 160 young men and women are taking part in the conference, traveling from around the Eastern American Diocese, Canada, Russia, and Australia.
