On Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of September, parishioners of St. Panteleimon Church in Hartford, CT, made a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, where they participated in the public celebration of the feast of Venerable Job of Pochaev.
The pilgrims took part in a procession with the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, walking from the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in the monastery cemetery to Holy Trinity Cathedral; there, they joined the monastic brotherhood in prayer during a moleben and the reading of the akathist to St. Job.
The following morning, the pilgrims confessed and communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries during Divine Liturgy, celebrated by the monastery’s abbot, Bishop Luke of Syracuse, and concelebrated by a large number of clergy from both the monastery and those visiting for the feast.
After the festal meal, the pilgrims served a panihida at the grave of Brother José (Muñoz-Cortés); before departing, they hiked to the cross, where they venerated it and sang the troparion to the Cross.
