On June 27-28, the 4th Sunday after Pentecost and the feast day of the Holy Hierarch Michael, Metropolitan of Kiev, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Michael of Boston officiated the divine services in St. Xenia Church in Methuen, MA. This date marked His Grace’s first namesday since his tonsure as a monk earlier this year, prior to his elevation to the episcopacy.

Serving alongside the hierarch and rector were parish clergy: Priest Alexei Klar and Deacons Dimitry Doohovskoy and John Sarantakis.

All-Night Vigil on Saturday and Divine Liturgy on Sunday were sung by a youth choir made up of young people from St. Xenia’s parish community, as well as those visiting from other parishes.

The church was filled to capacity, with roughly 200 people present. 

Bishop Michael delivered a sermon on the Gospel reading, as well as the lives of the Holy Hierarchs Jonah, Metropolitan of Moscow, and Michael, Metropolitan of Kiev. He ended by urging those present to take up the work that God has put in front of them. 

After Liturgy, a festal luncheon was organized for all in attendance.
