On Thursday evening, May 28, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God visited Holy Dormition Church in McKeesport, PA.

 The icon was processed into the church and greeted by visiting clergy and over 300 local parishioners and guests.

An akathist service was served before the holy icon, led by parish rector Archpriest Dimitri Ermakov, co-served by: Archpriests Andrew Nelko (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky OCA Cathedral in Pittsburgh, PA), Jonah Campbell (rector of Christ the Savior Church in Wayne, WV), Stevan Rocknage (rector of St. Sava Serbian Church in McKeesport), and Rajko Kosic (rector of Holy Resurrection Serbian Church in Steubenville, OH), Priests Joseph Romanchak (rector of St. Basil the Great Church in Belle Vernon, PA) and Nebojša Varagić (rector of Holy Trinity Serbian Cathedral in Pittsburgh, PA), Hieromonk Alexei (Alexiev; ROCOR cleric, retired), parish Protodeacons Andrei Garine and Andrew Temple, and Deacon Mark Vukelic (cleric of Holy Resurrection Serbian Church).

At the conclusion of the akathist, Fr. Dimitri and the icon’s guardian, Priest Nectarios Yangson, shared a few words with the faithful, who then had the opportunity to venerate the icon and were anointed with its myrrh.

A small meal was prepared in the parish hall, where interaction continued.
