On Tuesday evening, May 26, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God visited St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA. The icon’s guardian, Priest Nectarios Yangson, accompanied the icon to the cathedral, which was filled to capacity with worshippers and clergy.
A moleben and akathist were served before the myrrh-streaming icon.
Serving alongside the rector, Priest Nathaniel Sorochka, were Archpriest Zoran Radovic (rector of St. George Serbian Church in Elizabeth, NJ) and Priests Paul Witek (rector of All Saints OCA Church in Olyphant, PA) and Paul Siewers (rector of St. John of Shanghai Church in Winfield, PA).
All of the faithful came up to be anointed with myrrh from the holy image of the Theotokos, which has been streaming myrrh since 2007.
