On Friday, March 20, during the 4th Week of Great Lent – that of the Veneration of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, golden cupolas and crosses were installed atop the domes of the new church at Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV.
The cupolas with crosses arrived at the monastery from overseas in July 2025, after years of temptations which repeatedly delayed their arrival. The very next month, during his episcopal visit to the monastery, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Luke of Syracuse, blessed them during the feast of the monastery’s patron, the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon.
Now, on the day that the Precious Cross returns to the altar after being out in the center of the church for all of the 4th Week, two beautiful crosses have been elevated over the monastery for all time.
