Stafford, VA: Metropolitan Jonah bestows Clerical Awards in St. Herman Church

On February 8, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and that of the New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia, Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) celebrated Divine Liturgy in St. Herman of Alaska Church in Stafford, VA, of which His Eminence is the rector.

Concelebrating with Metropolitan Jonah were parish clerics: Archpriest Alexander Webster (retired), Priests Mark Grant and Alexander Laymon, and Hierodeacon Mark (Sanford).

At the Little Entrance, with blessing of Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, His Eminence awarded Fr. Alexander Laymon (assistant rector) the right to wear the nabedrennik, and Fr. Mark (Sanford) the right to wear the double orarion.

The choir was led by Reader Michael Yuschak.

After the service, a meal was held for all in the parish fellowship hall.
