On Friday, January 23, Matushka Martha Kimball – wife of Deacon Joseph and mother of Deacon Christopher and Subdeacon Patrick Kimball of St. Alexander Nevsky Memorial Church in Richmond, ME – reposed in the Lord after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.
A devout Orthodox Christian, Matushka Martha was a woman of great faith and kindness who always saw the good in others. Parish rector Archpriest Chad Williams said of her, "She was the first to greet newcomers in the church, and now is the first to be buried in our church cemetery. She was dearly loved by all."
Her funeral was held the following day – Saturday, January 24. Archpriest Michael Crowley (dean of New England and Bishop-elect of Boston), who helped bring the Kimball family into the Orthodox Church, was present for the funeral and delivered the eulogy.
In addition to Fr. Joseph, Fr. Christopher (Natalia), and Subdeacon Patrick (Mary), Matushka is survived by four more children and 13 grandchildren.
Memory eternal to the newly reposed handmaid of God Martha!
