On November 16, the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) paid an archpastoral visit to St. Nektarios Church in Lenoir City, TN. This year’s visit was timed for the weekend preceding the parish’s patronal feast, which took place on Saturday, November 22.
His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish rector Archpriest Job Watts and Deacon Paul Roudenko.
Prior to the start of Liturgy, with the blessing of Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, Metropolitan Jonah tonsured parish altar servers Ephraim Easterday and Joseph Weeks readers.
Upon conclusion of the service, a diocesan gramota was awarded to David & Magdalena Cusick for their dedicated service to the Church and the building up of the parish. Fellowship continued at a festal meal, after which the faithful departed, having come together for a joyful, memorable celebration of the Eucharist.
