On Saturday, October 25, Priest Vadim Pismenny, cleric of St. Sergius of Radonezh Church in Golyanovo, (Moscow, Russia) reposed in the Lord. He was 63 years old.
The future priest was born on September 18, 1962, in Dzerzhinsky, Moscow Region, to a family of engineers. He graduated from the Moscow Medical & Dental Institute and, until 1990, worked as an emergency physician in Ivanteyevka, Moscow Region, where he consulted on psychological and psychotherapeutic issues.
From 1994 to 1997, he studied theology at the Holy Cross Seminary in Brookline, MA. He was ordained a deacon on December 6, 1998, and a priest on January 30, 1999 by Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor; +2020).
From 1999 to 2010, he was rector of Holy Spirit OCA Church in Bridgeport, CT, and from 2010 to 2011, he was rector of St. John the Wonderworker Church in Framingham, MA. From 2011 to 2013, he served as a cleric at the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY.
From 2013 to May 2017, he served as a cleric at Resurrection of Christ Church at Semenovskoe Cemetery in Moscow. From May 2017 until his repose, he was a cleric at St. Sergius of Radonezh Church in Golyanovo.
