On March 22-23, the 3rd Sunday of Great Lent, that of the Cross, His Grace, Bishop Jerome (Shaw), paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Epiphany Church in Roslindale (Boston), MA, where he officiated the divine services.

Serving alongside His Grace as All-Night Vigil on Saturday evening and concelebrating with him as Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning was the parish clergy: rector Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Archpriest Thomas Reske, and Protodeacons Alexander Jarostchuk, Victor Ganson, and Alexander Kurenkov.

Bishop Jerome delivered two sermons. The first, in Russian, was on how the Sanhedrin exemplifies the danger of decisions made by a group, which can absolve the individual of responsibility and conscience. The second, in English, was on why humans, as being both physical and spiritual beings, cannot have "purely spiritual worship", but both body and soul need to be involved: therefore, we need such things as ceremonies, icons, relics, and fasts.

After Liturgy, the parish sisterhood organized a delicious Lenten luncheon. Many parishioners came up to greet the archpastor, sharing fond memories and asking his spiritual counsel.
