On October 27, the Sunday the Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, Holy Fathers Church in New York City marked its patronal feast day.
Concelebrating Divine Liturgy was parish rector Archpriest Alexander Botschagow, co-served by Priest Sergey Trostyanskiy (rector of St. Gregory the Theologian Parish in New York City).
The choir sang prayerfully under the direction of Anastasia "Nancy" Neubauer. Many parishioners communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries. The church was immaculate prepared for the feast, with flowers adorning most of the icons.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, a moleben was served to the Most Holy Theotokos and to the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils. Fr. Alexander then greeted all those present and delivered a sermon, in which he spoke about the importance of putting God first in our lives and loving Him, without which we put ourselves in a dangerous spiritual position.
After the service, a luncheon was held in the parish hall.
