On Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st of September, the great feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to Nativity of the Mother of God Church in Albany, NY, and officiated the divine services there on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast day.
His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by: Archpriest Michael Fritz (parish cleric), Archimandrite Theophylact (Clapper-DeWell; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY), Archpriests Michael Taratuchin (rector of St. John of Kronstadt Memorial Church in Utica, NY), Alexis Duncan (parish rector), and Brendan Crowley (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Enfield, CT), Hieromonk Anatoly (Zilin; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery), and Protodeacons Michael Soloviev & Nikifor Franklin (parish clerics).
A multitude of parishioners prayed at the divine services, most of whom communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries at Liturgy.
Upon completion of the service, Metropolitan Nicholas and the clergy and faithful held a procession around the church.
A banquet was then held, where many congratulatory messages were read and interaction between the clergy and parishioners continued throughout the day.
