On Friday, April 12, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to Our Lady "Unexpected Joy" Church in Staten Island, NY, where he performed the Sacrament of Holy Unction.

Serving alongside His Eminence were: Archimandrite Gabriel (Pigarev; cleric of Holy New Martyrs of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY), Abbot Eutychius (Dovgan; abbot of St. Nicholas Skete in Freehold, NJ), Archpriest Vasily Zelenyuk (parish rector), Archpriest Paul Ivanov (rector of Holy Myrrhbearers Church in Brooklyn), Archpriest Leonid Goferman (rector of Holy Virgin Protection Church in New Brunswick, NJ), Priest Alexander Revyuk (acting rector of Holy Trinity OCA Church in Brooklyn), Priest Nicholas Gulin (acting rector of Life-Giving Spring Icon of the Theotokos OCA Mission in Philadelphia, PA), and Deacon Fiodor Tulbur (cleric of Holy Myrrhbearers Church).

A multitude of parishioners and faithful from other churches took part in the Sacrament.

Metropolitan Nicholas addressed those gathered with an instructive sermon on Great Lent, after which the priests anointed those participating in Holy Unction with blessed oil.
