Jordanville, NY: Feast of St. Michael in Holy Trinity Monastery
On Tuesday, November 21, the feast of the Holy Archangel Michael and all of the Heavenly Bodiless Hosts was celebrated at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. His Grace Luke, Bishop of Syracuse and monastery abbot, officiated the divine services: the All-Night Vigil on the eve of the feast, and Divine Liturgy together with the monastery clergy the following morning.
This date also marks the anniversary of the repose of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Philaret (Voznesensky; +1985), the third First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. In keeping with established tradition, a memorial litia was served at the end of Liturgy for his blessed repose.
