On Sunday, December 3 – the eve of the great feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos – Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Luke of Syracuse paid an archpastoral visit to the Church of the Entrance into the Temple of the Holy Virgin (St. Mary’s) in Jamesville-Syracuse, NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy in honor of the parish’s upcoming patronal feast day.
Concelebrating with His Grace were: parish rector Archpriest Nicholas Tkatschow, Archpriest Michael Taratuchin (rector of St. John of Kronstadt Memorial Church in Utica, NY), Hieromonk Anatoly (Zilin; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanivlle, NY), Priest John Malcom (parish cleric), Archdeacon Paisios (Levakov; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery) and Deacon Lazarus Sparandera (cleric of St. John of Kronstadt Church).
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Luke read aloud a Synodal gramota congratulating Fr. Nicholas on the 60th anniversary of his priestly ordination. He also presented him with a jeweled cross on behalf of the brotherhood of Holy Trinity Monastery.
After Liturgy, a festal luncheon was served in the parish hall for the archpastor, clergy, and faithful.
