On October 22, the Sunday the Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Fathers Church in New York City, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast day.
Concelebrating with His Eminence at Liturgy were parish rector Archpriest Alexander Botschagow and Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY).
The choir sang prayerfully under the direction of Anastasia "Nancy" Neubauer. Many parishioners communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries. The church was immaculately prepared for the feast, with flowers adorning most of the icons.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, a moleben was served to the Most Holy Theotokos and to the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils. His Eminence then greeted all those present and delivered a sermon, in which he spoke about the history of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, noting in particular the importance of having the holy icons adorn our churches and homes.
After the service, a luncheon was held in the parish hall.
