On Saturday, August 5, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York visited St. Panteleimon Chapel on Lake Kittatinny in New Jersey. There, His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by chapel rector Archpriest Serafim Gan and Protodeacons Paul Wolkow & Eugene Kallaur (clerics of St. Seraphim Memorial Church in Sea Cliff, NY).
That day marked the 60th anniversary of the summer chapel’s founding, as a place where Orthodox Christians who loved to go on vacation in the region would come to pray.
At the end of the service, His Eminence congratulated the parish clergy, acolytes, singers, worshippers and the guardian of the church, Alla Nikolaevna Ryl, daughter of Archpriest Nikolai Dombrowski, the builder of the Diocesan Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco.
After the veneration of the cross at the dacha of Alla Nikolaevna, a solemn reception was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the chapel, where the First Hierarch, clergy, and assembled believers continued their gathering. After thanking the organizers and saying goodbye to all of the participants in the celebration, His Eminence traveled on to St. Seraphim Camp in Blakeslee, PA, where he officiated the services of the 9th Sunday after Pentecost.
