On Saturday, July 22, the feast of Venerable Gabriel, Abbot of St. Elijah Skete on Mount Athos & Wonderworker of Odessa, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York celebrated Divine Liturgy in Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY.

Concelebrating with the First Hierarch were parish and visiting clergy. Parishioners wonderfully adorned the church with flowers and floral arrangements for the feast day. The parish choir sang prayerfully.

To mark the occasion, an icon of St. Gabriel containing his relics was brought from Odessa, in front of which a moleben was served at the end of Liturgy.

The First Hierarch, clergy, and assembled worshippers continued their gathering at a festal meal, during which those present congratulated Archimandrite Gabriel (Pigarev), who is temporarily serving at Holy New Martyrs Church, on his namesday.
