On Thursday, July 13, His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, visited the ORPR Diocesan Youth Camp in Rock City, IL. This was His Eminence’s first visit to a children’s camp since his election as Primate.

Metropolitan Nicholas was hosted by the ruling bishop of the Mid-American Diocese, His Eminence, Archbishop Peter. In addition to Metropolitan Nicholas and Archbishop Peter, Bishop John of Caracas & South America, participated in the visit.

Having first familiarized himself with the internal workings and facilities of the ORPR camp, including the historic St. Vladimir Church that is located directly in the center of the camp, Metropolitan Nicholas had the opportunity to share a meal and interact with camp participants and counselors.

Having bid farewell to the camp participants, Metropolitan Nicholas departed for a visit to the historic Holy Trinity OCA Cathedral in Chicago.
