On Thursday, May 25, the great feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the Monastery of the Glorious Ascension in Resaca, GA celebrated its patronal feast day. Monastery abbot Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar) celebrated the festal Divine Liturgy, co-served by Abbot Silouan (Justiniano; cleric of St. Dionyios the Areopagite Monastery in St. James, NY) and monastery clerics: Priests Benedict Simpson and Justinian Burnett and Deacon Laurence Powell.

Fr. Maximos delivered a homily on the importance of the Ascension of our Lord for our salvation. Upon conclusion of Liturgy, he greeted the monastery brethren and attendees with the feast.

After the service, all in attendance enjoyed a delicious festal luncheon and a time of communal fellowship.
