Howell, NJ: Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal officiates Divine Services in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

On February 19-20, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada, paid an archpastoral visit to St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Howell, NJ, where he officiated the divine services.

Co-serving with His Eminence were cathedral clerics: rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriests Vasily Andrejuk and Boris Slootsky, Priest Anthony Williams, Protodeacon Paul Drozdowski, and Deacons Alexandre Sarandinaki and Dimitry Lisan, as well as Protodeacon Eugene Kallaur (cleric of St. Seraphim Memorial Church in Sea Cliff, NY).

Many of the faithful communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel delivered a sermon in Russian and English, in which he emphasized the importance of repentance, encouraging the faithful never to despair on account of their sins, but to go frequently to confession and Holy Communion and be made pure.

After the service, the sisterhood prepared a delicious luncheon, at which interaction between the hierarchal guest, clergy, and faithful continued.
