On Saturday, September 19, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York performed the blessing of the cupola and cross for the future St. Michael Church in Wayne, NJ.

Joining His Eminence for the service was Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, as well as parish rector Archpriest George Zelenin and visiting clergy.

Metropolitan Hilarion congratulated the faithful with the new milestone in erection of the church, calling the clergy and Christ-loving laity to pray that God send down His help in its construction. His Eminence thanked the rector and the community for their labors in building God’s house, and expressed his hope that soon St. Michael’s Church will be a place to go for everyone who wishes to meet with Christ the Savior.

A picnic was organized by the parish for all in attendance.
