On February 23, the Sunday of Meatfare and commemoration of the Dread Judgment, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan paid an archpastoral visit to St. Panteleimon Church in Hartford, CT, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating with His Grace were parish rector Archpriest Dionisy Nalitov and Deacons Michael Pavuk (cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA) and Eugene Utnyukhin (parish cleric).
Before the start of Liturgy, the parish greeted an icon of Venerable Martha of Tambov, containing a piece of her holy relics, presented as a gift by Metropolitan Theodosius of Tambov & Razskazovo.
Singing at the service was the Holy Trinity Seminary Choir under the direction of Deacon Nicholas Kotar.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas congratulated all the communicants of Christ’s Holy Mysteries and then delivered a sermon on the topic of the Sunday Gospel reading.
A bountiful bliny luncheon was held in the parish hall, during which the seminarians performed a concert to everyone’s enjoyment.
