Coconut Creek, FL: Bishop Nicholas leads Divine Services in St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church

On Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of November, the feast day of Venerable Job, abbot and wonderworker of Pochaev, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan paid an archpastoral visit to St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church in Coconut Creek, FL.

In greeting the diocesan vicar on Saturday evening, parish rector Priest Demetrio Romeo expressed his sincere thanks for His Grace’s archpastoral love and care. Co-serving at the All-Night Vigil with Bishop Nicholas were Fr. Demetrio and Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), who accompanied His Grace.

On Sunday morning, during the Sixth Hour, Bishop Nicholas tonsured Andrei Iurkevich and David Morais readers. After the Eucharistic Canon, His Grace ordained Subdeacon Dimitri Pavlenkov to the diaconate. The newly ordained Deacon Dimitri and tonsured Readers Andrei and David will fulfill their service at St. Luke Church.

Upon completion of Divine Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas delivered a short sermon and greeted the parishioners of St. Luke Church on the occasion of the feast of Venerable Job. His Grace congratulated and thanked Fr. Demetrio for his dedication and hard work in the church and school, and wished Deacon Dimitri God’s aid in his new diaconal calling.

A luncheon followed in the grand hall of Paideia Classical Academy, which hosts the parish.
