Brookyln, NY: Metropolitan Hilarion leads patronal feastday of St. John the Baptist Cathedral

On July 7, the Third Sunday after Pentecost and feast of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptizer of the Lord John, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Brooklyn on the occasion of its lesser patronal feast.

His Eminence was co-served by cathedral rector, Archpriest Alexander Belya, Archpriests Vasiliy Deyak & Vasily Yurina (parish clerics), Protodeacon DimitryHlyupin (cleric of Joy of all who Sorrow Church in Tula, Russia), and Deacons Rostislav Zadorozhny, George Hiro and Eugene Hriorhiak (parish clerics).

At the Little Entrance, the First Hierarch elevated Deacon Rostislav Zadorozhny to the rank of Protodeacon in honor of his service to the church and the feast.

At the end of the Liturgy a short moleben was served to St. John the Baptist, after which Metropolitan Hilarion addressed those gathered in the church with edifying words.
