Atlanta, GA: Bishop Nicholas leads Divine Services in Joy of All Who Sorrow Church

On Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th of April, the feast of the Laudation of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, paid an archpastoral visit to the Church of Our Lady "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in Cumming (Atlanta), GA.

On Friday evening, Bishop Nicholas led Matins with the reading of the Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos, and on Saturday morning celebrated Divine Liturgy. Co-serving with the vicar of the Eastern American Diocese were: Archpriest Dimitri Oselinsky (retired; attached to St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell (Atlanta), GA) and parish clergy: rector Priest Eugene Antonov and Deacon Anton Kouznetsov.

During the Little Entrance, Bishop Nicholas awarded Fr. Eugene the right to wear the kamilavka. The divine services were held under the aegis of the myrhh-streaming icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts," which is currently visiting the parishes and monasteries of the Diocese.

The parish choir earned the praise of His Grace and the clergy, and the service was attended by a large gathering of the faithful.

A lenten luncheon was held in the parish hall, where interaction continued throughout the afternoon.
