Jordanville, NY: Parish School of Holy Epiphany Church performs Pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery

On February 17, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son the Parish School of Holy Epiphany Church in Roslindale (Boston), MA, dedicated to the memory of the Holy Royal-Martyr Tsarevich Alexis, organized a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. The initial purpose of the trip was to visit the "Last Days of the Last Tsar" exhibit. The group of 30 parents and students arrived the day prior. After touring the monastery grounds and venerating the holy icons and relics in the main cathedral and lower church dedicated to Ven. Job of Pochaev, the pilgrims settled in their rooms. After dinner, all attended the beautifully sung All-Night Vigil and went to Confession. Several of the boys from the parish school served in the altar.

The following day, all attended the hierarchal Divine Liturgy and partook of Christ’s Holy Mysteries. During the luncheon, the Monastery’s abbot, Bishop Luke of Syracuse, welcomed the pilgrims from Boston and warmly thanked both Archpriest Victor Boldewskul and Protodeacon Victor Ganson for organizing the trip and serving with the monastery clergy.

Afterwards, the pilgrims were able to interact with the monastery community and then given a tour of the museum and the "Last Days of the Last Tsar" exhibit by curator Michael Perekrestov.

It was inspiring for all to see that the monastery has entered a new chapter in its illustrious history. It was visible to all that the monastic community is once again growing, seminarians continue to enroll and participate in life of the monastery as preparation for their future service in the Church, and numerous young Orthodox families are planting roots around the monastery, creating a vibrant Orthodox community.
