Wayne, NJ: Metropolitan Hilarion consecrates Cornerstone of Future St. Michael Church

On Saturday, September 15, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York led the consecration of the cornerstone of the future church building of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Wayne, NJ. His Eminence was co-served by Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, as well as:

  • Archpriest Serge Lukianov (diocesan secretary)
  • Archpriest George Larin (pastor emeritus of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY)
  • Archpriest Zoran Radovic (rector of St. George Serbian Church in Elizabeth, NJ)
  • Archpriest Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ)
  • Archpriest George Zelenin (parish rector)
  • Archpriest Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ)
  • Priest Dmitri Don (rector of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ)
  • Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY)
  • Deacon Andrei Logvinenko (parish cleric)
  • Deacon Alexey Pnev (cleric of Nativity of the Mother of Church at the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY)
  • Deacon Pavel Roudenko (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City), and
  • Deacon Nicholas Ilyin (cleric of "Novo-Diveevo" Convent).

The cornerstone of the new church was consecrated and inlaid with relics of the Holy Martyr Julian of Egypt. Upon conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Hilarion congratulated the parishioners with the important milestone in their parish’s life.

A picnic was prepared for all, where interaction between the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful continued.
