On Sunday, August 12, His Grace, Bishop Jerome, paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Virgin Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating with His Grace were parish rector Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine, Abbot Photius (Oulanov; cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), and Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY). The choir was directed by Peter Fekula, whose place at the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City that day was taken by Matushka Eugenia Temidis.
Bishop Jerome delivered two sermons: the first, in Russian, on why Sunday is the Christian Sabbath; the second, in English, on the words of the Holy Apostle Paul, "Ye are the seal of my Apostolate in the Lord" (I Cor. 9:2): we are all called to an apostolate, which is directed first of all at confirming ourselves in the Faith.
After Liturgy, a bountiful brunch was served in the rectory.
