On Monday, January 8, as part of his broader ROCOR Studies project, Deacon Andrei Psarev (assistant professor of Russian Church History and Canon Law at Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY) visited St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC, where he conducted an interview with its rector, Archpriest Victor Potapov.

In this interview, Fr. Victor talks about the founding of the parish by the Holy Hierarch John of Shanghai & San Francisco during his visit to the American capital, about missionary outreach, and about life at the parish – most significantly, about how to balance the needs of both the Russian- and English-speaking communities who call it home.
