New York City: Metropolitan Hilarion takes part in Reception marking Russian-American History Month

On Thursday, April 12, an official reception was held in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York City, honoring "Russian-American History Month" in the state of New York. The reception was organized by the president of the Russian-American Cultural Center (RACC), Dr. Olga S. Zatsepina, together with the Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York, Sergey K. Ovsyannikov.

Attending the reception was the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York; Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA; Archpriest Igor Tarasov, chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes; and clergy of the Eastern American Diocese and Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.

Consul General Ovsyannikov greeted all those gathered and congratulated them with the occasion. Bishop John also likewise greeted all those assembled with the feast of the Resurrection of Christ. Afterward, an official resolution, passed unanimously by the state of New York and marking April 2018 as Russian-American History Month, was read aloud.

Metropolitan Hilarion, Bishop John, the Consul General and administrators of the Russian-American Cultural Center were all presented with copies of the official resolution.
