Nanuet, NY: Patronal Feast of St. Seraphim Cathedral in Novo-Diveevo Convent

On Tuesday, August 1, the feast of the Finding of the Relics of Venerable Seraphim, Wonderworker of Sarov, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada visited Holy Dormition "Novo-Diveevo" Convent in Nanuet, NY, and celebrated the festal Divine Liturgy in the convent’s St. Seraphim Cathedral.

His Eminence was co-served by cathedral dean Archpriest Alexander Fedorowski, Archpriest George Zelenin (rector of St. Michael Cathedral in Paterson, NJ), cathedral clerics Archpriest Yaroslav Belikow, Abbot Photius (Oulanov), and Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky, along with visiting clergy. Singing the divine services was the choir under the direction of Matushka Maria Fedorowski. Praying at Liturgy were the sisters of the convent led by Abbess Makaria, and a multitude of pilgrims. Thatday, many communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon completion of the service, the clergy and faithful held the traditional procession around the church. A festal luncheon was organized for all in the church hall, during which parishioners and pilgrims had an opportunity to interact with the clergy and one another.
