Paterson, NJ: Bishop Nicholas performs Sacrament of Holy Unction in St. Michael’s Cathedral

On Friday, March 24, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan led the Sacrament of Holy Unction in Holy Archangel Michael Cathedral in Paterson, NJ.

His Grace was co-served by Archpriests Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ), George Zelenin (cathedral rector), Boris Slootsky and Seraphim Chemodakov (clerics of St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ), Priest Dmitri Don (rector of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ), Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), and parish Deacon Andrei Logvinenko.

Upon completion of the Sacrament, Bishop Nicholas greeted Fr. George, thanking him for his invitation to lead the service, and thanked all of the clergy for their joint prayers. His Grace also wished all of the faithful a salvific remainder of Great Lent, reminding them of the importance of receiving Christ’s Holy Mysteries at the next Divine Liturgy after Unction, and on Pascha itself.
