The Icon then traveled to Erie, where it visited the Church of the Nativity. The rector, Archpriest Pimen Simon, served a moleben to the Mother of God, co-served by Fr. Serge, Archpriest Ronald Hazuda (pastor emeritus of St. Nicholas Church in Erie), and parish clerics: Priests Theodore Jurewicz and Hierotheus Popoff, and Deacons Markel Wassell and Stefan Klimczak. Also praying in church was Fr. Seraphim Wing. Upon completion of the service, Fr. Serge Lukianov presented the rector with a copy of the Kursk Root Icon, a blessing from Metropolitan Hilarion.
